About Me
I am a native New Yorker born and raised in East Harlem aka El Barrio. I am a mother and grandmother working at a day job in Times Square. I have always been an avid reader. As a child, I snuck books to read under my covers at bedtime by the light of a penlight my father secretly gave me. This small gift gave way to a vivid imagination coupled with a seemingly unquenchable curiosity and thirst for knowledge. Once, when my dad sold a car to a stranger, my family resorted to calling me "Perry Mason" for I was mortified that he would sell a car to a stranger without a broker and questioned why he would put the family at risk of imminent danger by inviting the man up to the house to sign the paperwork over coffee. I was convinced we would all be victims of some horrible crime committed by this unknown man. This event planted the desire in me to become a forensic scientist a la CSI or maybe write a book based on my interviews of serial killers. But, after a medical emergency, I decided I wanted to write fantasy stories and thrillers instead.
My sophomore novel, a psychological thriller entitled "Divergent Lives" released December 12, 2012. It is the story of fraternal twins born in NYC to immigrant parents. They are separated at birth. One remains with the biological parents, the other is sold on the black market to a couple living in another state. Both grow up to be sociopaths. One is a serial killer.
Currently, I am working on several manuscripts. Three are stand alone novels and one is a series of paranormal/urban fantasy stories featuring several breeds of creatures. It is a multigenerational story that spans centuries.
I live in a gated community in the borough of The Bronx in New York City.
