Submitting Your Work to Cemetery Dance Magazine

Before submitting to Cemetery Dance Magazine

The Market List recommends you verify the market is active and accepting submissions before sending your manuscript via regular mail. You may verify a market status by either visiting their website, calling their listed phone number, or comfirming via regular mail that the market is still active before sending them your work.

If you have recently submitted to Cemetery Dance Magazine or have experience with this market, please submit a comment below. Recent submission response times are always welcome and helpful to other writers.

From the Cemetery Dance Magazine guidelines:

We are still currently closed to fiction submissions. Between the great new authors we’ve been finding in the submission pile and some brand new works from some of the major writers in the genre, Cemetery Dance magazine has acquired enough fiction to carry us through our issues scheduled for 2011 and into 2012.  Because we usually receive up to 500 submissions a month, and we have a limited number of fiction slots available per issue, we decided to close our fiction submissions temporarily so authors can place their stories in other markets while we concentrate on publishing stories already submitted/accepted.  We will update this page when we reopen to unsolicited submissions.  The plan right now is to reopen around the end of 2011.

Queries for interviews or essays can be sent to Managing Editor Brian James Freeman at brianfreeman@cemeterydance.com.  You will receive a response within a week if your idea is something we might be able to use in a future issue.  Please note that there are no original ideas and your query might be something we’ve already done or are already working on.
